And so it begins, in earnest
I met with a professional organizer today. I had decided 2008 was going to be the year I got out from under the clutter that has accumulated over the last 20-ish years. I set up a schedule to clean out 1 room every month or two. Then I broke my foot. So I revamped the schedule to start in March vice January. I got my kitchen table cleared off and a couple cabinets cleaned out.
Then I sputtered. And then I conked out.
I finally gave up on trying to do it by myself. It’s just too daunting. So the organizer came this morning. We walked thru’ the place, then sat down and came up with a plan of attack. When we finished, she still had nearly 1½ hours left, so we started in on the pile of boxes in the middle of my living room. Oh, and she made me put my Christmas decorations away. (I just remembered I still have one out that needs my attention.)
All in all, we put 4 boxes of household items in the car to take to Goodwill (which I plan to do on Tuesday), filled up 3 garbage bags to throw out, along with 2 bundles of collapsed cardboard boxes.
I was exhausted and quite smelly. But it’s a good feeling.

Wow! That is soo-me progress! Good for you!
(Um…Christmas decorations? Still?)
Well, about the Christmas decorations… remember, I broke my foot in early January. And by the time I got to feeling better, I’d become “blind” to them.
That’s my excuse, and I’m stickin’ to it!
